Dorothy Buckles Kash, 90, of Phenix City, Alabama, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at her residence with her family by her side.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM EST in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home located at 3738 U.S. Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama with Pastor David White officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM EST at the funeral home. A private interment will be at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA.
Ms. Kash was born in Columbus, GA, the daughter of the late Boyd Buckles and Effie Coombs Sherrod. She was employed as a Job Analyst for the Civil Service at Ft. Benning, GA, prior to her retirement. She was known as an artistic person who enjoyed painting, cross-stitching and needlepoint. Prior to her husband’s death, they enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling with the RV. She was an avid reader. Ms. Kash has been a member of Golden Acres Baptist Church for over eighteen years. Above all, she enjoyed the time she spent with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Cecil H. Kash, Sr; three sisters Maurice Maddox, Doris Andert and Sue Raines and one son Gary Kash.
Left to cherish her memory are daughters Donna Harbin and her husband Barry of Fortson, GA and Robin Mahoney and her husband Todd of Auburn Hills, MI; Sons Steve Kash and his wife Tracy of Phenix City, AL, Chip Kash of Columbus, GA and Ron Kash of Winter Garden, FL and ten grandchildren.
