Dorothy Keeter

Dorothy White Keeter, 72, of Smiths Station, AL died Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Canterbury Nursing Home in Phenix City, AL.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 pm Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, AL.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 until 12:00 pm, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.

Mrs. Keeter was born March 10, 1947 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Robert J. White and Jessie Steverson White.  She worked as a nursing assistant at Cobb Hospital for several years but spent most of her life taking care of her family.  Mrs. Keeter enjoyed gardening, cooking, arts and crafts and cross stitching.  She was a long time member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. 

Other than her parents, Mrs. Keeter was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry W. Keeter, as well as grandparents Charlie B. White and Minnie Weaver White, and Jesse Steverson and Lizzie Clyde Steverson.

Survivors include her children, Stephanie Brown and husband Don, Kevin Powell and wife Leigh; one sister, Gayle Batting and husband Bob; one brother, Allen White and wife Darlene; grandchildren, Melanie Parrish, Bryan Parrish (Whitley), Justin Powell (Chelsea), Brandon Powell (Katie), Jacob Powell; great-grandchildren, Elsie Parrish and Rylee Parrish; step-children, Jannie Costello, Rod Costello (Beth), Lynn Baker, Jamie Karastury (John), Jennifer Keeter and Lynn Keyt (Billy), several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and friends.
