Dr. Christine Elizabeth Daley , 61, of Hamilton, GA passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Midtown Medical. A service will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2000 Kay Circle, Columbus, GA on Monday, August 15, 2016 beginning at 5:00 P.M. EST. Arrangements were made by Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA.
Dr. Daley earned her PhD in school psychology from the University of South Carolina in 1995. She did her clinical supervision in Valdosta, GA, and worked for the Muscogee County School District for nine years before entering private practice with Columbus Psychological Associates in 2004. Dr. Daley taught for two years on the faculty at the University of Central Arkansas and served as adjunct faculty at both Troy University and Columbus State University. She published a number of professional articles and presented at the local, state, national, and international levels. She co-authored a chapter for the 2011 edition of The Cambridge Handbook of Intelligence, edited by Robert Sternberg and Scott Kaufman.
Dr. Daley was born on June 25, 1955 in Portsmouth Va., grew up in Newport RI and was awarded her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Rhode Island. She was a nationally certified school psychologist and a past president of the Georgia Association of School Psychologists, and served on the board of the National Association of School Psychologists. At the time of her death on July 21, 2016 she leaves behind her mother, Marie B. Daley, of Newport, RI and three sisters: Maureen and Colleen of Jacksonville, Fla. and Kathleen of LeRoy, NY.
