Duane E. Bedwell

Duane Edward Bedwell, 74, of Seale, AL died while at Piedmont, Midtown, Columbus, GA on Monday, August 14, 2023.

Committal Services will be held at 10:00 AM (EST) on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with U. S. Army honors and Pastor Matt Stephens officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.

Mr. Bedwell was born July 31, 1949 in Garden City, MI son of the late Parvin Bedwell and Beulah Enoch Bedwell. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. After his service to our country, he began his career in the Automotive Industry working for Structural Kinetics in Michigan, retiring after 28 years as a Technician.  He was the recipient of a liver in 2015 and will forever be grateful to the family of the donor for his second chance at life. Duane loved to be able to provide for his family and making sure they were taken care of. He found great joy when his family was together and happy. Duane was rough and tough but was always there when you needed him and sometimes when you did not. He enjoyed his retirement with traveling, seeing family, but most of all hanging out with his dogs and Rhonda.  Duane will be remembered as a patriot, beloved husband, father/grandfather and friend.

Mr. Bedwell was preceded in death by his parents, Parvin and Beulah Bedwell and a sister, Opal Louise Carwardine.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Rhonda Sue Booth Bedwell, Seale, AL; two daughters, Serenity Dawn Smith (Cody) and Micki Jeanne Gowdy (Jeff); one son, Michael Starcher; one sister, Rebecca Barlow; one brother, Howard Bedwell (Linda); 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
