Eddie Frank Long, 72, of Salem, AL passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services are 11am EST Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel with visitation from 10 until 11. Burial Will follow at Rocky Mount Baptist Church where he will receive military honors.
Eddie was born March 9, 1945 to the late Frank and Mary Hollis Long in Phenix City, AL. He proudly served in the US Army, was a lifelong resident of Salem and attended Rocky Mount Baptist Church. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Jane Monteleon and Dorothy Waldrop.
Survivors include his children, Eddie Frank Long, Jr of Columbus, Alice Minton of Smith Station, Bobby Gilmore of Columbus, Tracy Gilmore of NC and Buffy Land of Ladonia; siblings, Calvin Long of Salem, Claudine Wilson of Columbus, Sarah Quigley of FL, James Long of Columbus, Hazel Wadsworth of Phenix City, Joyce Eggleton of FL, Marie Bulloch of Columbus and Sherll Davidson of Seale; grandchildren, Ginger Long, Jessica Long, Tenley Long, Kristy McKenzie, Corey Minton, Mathew Minton, Randy Gilmore, Shawn Smith and James Land; 2 great-grandchildren, Jeremiah McKenzie and Jeremy McKenzie; Many nieces and nephews, extended family and many caring friends.
