Edith Styles

Edith Styles, age 90, resident of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital.  Private graveside services will be held at Fort Moore Main Post Cemetery, Fort Moore, Georgia.  Final arrangements are being handled through Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus, Georgia.

Mrs. Styles was born July 12, 1933 in Fontana Dam, North Carolina.  She was retired from Sunshine Biscuits where she faithfully worked for over 30 years.  Mrs. Styles was Baptist by faith and spent quality time reading, particularly mystery novels.  She always looked forward to cooking and being a hostess to her family.  Mrs. Styles enjoyed taking trips to North Carolina and visiting family, and times when she would be driving anywhere, many referred to her as a “speed demon.”

Her family remembers her as a strong, independent, and caring woman.

Mrs. Styles was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Styles and a grandson, Matthew Styles.  She is survived by one daughter, Jackie Hollifield and her husband Bobby of Simpsonville, South Carolina; three sons, Michael Styles and his wife Dianne of Gainesville, Georgia, Randy Styles of Harris County, Georgia, and Gary Styles of Columbus, Georgia; one sister, Rebecca Wylie of Marion, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Bobby Hollifield, Scott Hollifield, Julie Baker, and Emily Holland; six great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
