Edith Claridy Waddail, 91, of Bowling Green, OH, passed away May 1, 2016 at Wood County Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 7, 2016 beginning at 10:00 A.M. EST at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, AL, her former home, with the Reverend William Neal officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
Edith Claridy Waddail was born November 3, 1924, daughter of the late Jesse Fern Claridy and Iona Garrison Claridy in Phenix City, AL, and was employed as a bookkeeper for many years. Edith was a member of First Baptist Church of Phenix City, AL and First Christian Church in Bowling Green, OH.
Other than her parents, Jesse and Iona Claridy, Edith was preceded in death by a brother, J.F. Claridy, Jr. and her husband, Robert A. Waddail, Sr.
Survivors include; Children, Robert A. Waddail, Jr. (Christy), of Baltimore, MD, Becky W. Pissanos and Lori W. Ritchie, both of Bowling Green, OH; Grandchildren, Jon Mason (Meg), of Durham, NC, Rob Waddail (Alexis) and Chris Waddail (Victoria), all of Baltimore, MD; First Cousins, Mary Dell Harrell, of Bowling Green, OH, Dorothy Boswell, of Phenix City, AL, George Claridy (Elaine), of Columbus, GA, Jo Claridy Sawtelle (Don), of Braselton, GA and Von Mausner, of Delray Beach, FL; Nieces, Suzy Lyon, of Atlanta, GA, Ginga Temples and Meredyth Cornett, both of Phenix City, AL. Edith is also survived by a number of cousins and great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
