Mrs. Edna Maureen White Wolfe, 80, of Seale, AL passed away peacefully at her home on December 29, 2015, after a short illness.
Mrs. Wolfe was born on January 20, 1935 in Stollings, WV, the daughter of the late Nora H. and E. Maurice White. She attended Logan High School, Marshall University and Anne Arundel Community College. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 56 years, James Elliott Wolfe.
She is survived by her two children, James R. Wolfe and wife Christine, and Cynthia J. Wolfe and husband Joseph M. Hammond; three grandchildren Amanda B. Gallatin and husband Brandon, Rebecca M. Wolfe, and Matthew G. Bracewell; one great-grandchild Scout L. Gallatin; her extended family and caring friends.
In her early career, Mrs. Wolfe taught elementary school in West Virginia and Maryland. She later became a registered nurse, having graduated from nursing school with high honors. In her retirement, she enjoyed sewing and reading.
The Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 2, 2016, from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Eastern at Vance Memorial Chapel, 3738 Hwy 431N, Phenix City, AL 36867. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mrs. Wolfe’s memory to assist local East Alabama families in need be made to Gentiva Hospice at 3615 South Railroad Street, Suite 3, Phenix City, AL 36867.
