Edward L. Mauldin, 1SG (Ret.), 87, of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday, August 06, 2017 at Magnolia Manor in Columbus. A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Thursday, August 10, 2017 beginning at 11:00 AM EST with 1SG (Ret.) Gordon Mauldin officiating. The interment will conclude the service with full military honors at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, beginning at 12:30 P.M. EST. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 09, 2017 at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST.
Mr. Mauldin was born December 18, 1929 in Sycamore, GA to the late John Thomas Mauldin and Millie Summer Mauldin. He was a United States veteran, who served his country proudly in the United States Army. He retired from his twenty-three years of service as a First Sergeant. He served two tours of Vietnam and was awarded The Bronze Star Medal. He was very proud of his service. He was also a member of the mall walkers. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Other than his parents, Mr. Mauldin is predeceased by four brothers and six sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Kennedy (Michael) of LaGrange, GA; one son, Tim Mauldin of LaGrange, GA, one brother, Jerry Mauldin of Las Vegas, NV; and four grandchildren: David Kennedy, Adam Kennedy, Skye Mauldin and Sydney Mauldin.
