Elbert “Grady” Goins, 84, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at his residence, while surrounded by his loving family.
A Celebration of Mr. Goins life will be announced at a later date.
Mr. Goins was born in Columbus, Georgia, the son of the late Elbert Felton Goins and Omie Goins. As a teenager, Mr. Goins worked for Loomis Industries for about two years. He then begin driving a truck, which turned out to be a career lasting for over fifty years. “Grady”, as he was known by his friends and family could always be found working. He did not believe in sitting around doing nothing. Grady was a man who loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He often took his family camping and he loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed auto racing and would go to either the drag strip or the dirt track to watch the races.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Goins was preceded in death by sons Mark Goins and Greg Goins.
Those left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of sixty-five years Alice Page Goins; son Timmy Goins of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren Stephen Mark Goins (Debbie), Paul Goins (Tasha), Tiffany Edenfield (Jake), Michael Goins and six great grandchildren.
