Mr. Elbert Johnson, 84, of Salem, AL stepped into eternity while at his residence with his family by his side on Thursday, March 11, 2021.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 13, 2021 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Curt Mize officiating. The interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 till 7:00 PM at the funeral home on Friday evening.
Mr. Johnson was born July 01, 1936 in Columbus, GA son of the late Albert Johnson and Augusta “Gussie” Grantham Johnson. He had retired from Sunshine Biscuits after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and the Crawford Masonic Lodge # 863. He loved to fish, ski and dance. We will remember his beautiful smile and enjoying a good joke. He was a man who provided for his family and loved them without reserve. We will miss him in our daily routine, but he will always be close to our hearts.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his two children, Steve and Sheila Johnson; six siblings, George Johnson, Charles Johnson, Robert Johnson, Evelyn Johnson, Shelvy Frey and Barbara Ann Pickard.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Josephine Martin Johnson, Salem, AL; his twin brother, Albert Johnson and his wife, Helen, Columbus, GA; 12 nieces and nephews, Henry Wynn, Ronnie Wynn, Donnie Wynn, Danny Wynn, Pam Frey, Yvonne Frey, Debbie Ketchum, Mike Pickard, Tabitha Johnson, Charlene Johnson, Daryl Johnson, and Kathy Johnson; several great-nieces, great-nephews and close friends also survive.
