Eleanor “Faye” Reddish Delay, 79, of Phenix City, AL passed away early Thursday morning, August 20, 2015 at Parkwood Health Care in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm EDT Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Bishop Chris Zeh officiating. A private interment will take place at Riverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening (Friday) from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the funeral home.
Mrs. Delay was born September 29, 1935 in Columbus, GA to the late David Newton Reddish and Ada Anglin Reddish Atkinson. She was retired as an accountant with the Columbus Metropolitan Airport. She was a lifetime member of the Valley Motorcycle Touring Association. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, outdoor activities, yard choirs, and loved working with her rose garden. She was a long time member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Roger Delay, an infant sister, Jane Reddish, and two brothers, David George Reddish and Charles Edward Reddish.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Alice Rewis and husband William of Rincon, GA, son, John Delay and wife Myra of Fort Mitchell, AL, one sister, Carol Chunn and husband Lawrence of Phenix City, AL, two brothers, Robert Newton Reddish of Columbus, GA, and Jimmy Wayne Atkinson and wife Alma Jo of Orange Beach, FL; (7) grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, a very special friend, Sherry Gray, several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
