Elizabeth Maria Benjamin

Elizabeth Maria Sprouse Benjamin, 90, of Seale, AL passed away peacefully on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Parkwood Health Care in Phenix City.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 2:30 pm EDT at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the graveside.

Mrs. Benjamin was born January 9, 1926 in Bisbee, AZ and was the daughter of Louis Sprouse and Maria Aguilar Sprouse.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who deeply loved her family.  She worked for many years in the different cotton mills in the Columbus, GA area. She cherished her many friendships and spending quality time with her family.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Howard Benjamin, brother, William Rowland Sprouse and a sister, Madeline Yanez.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Elaine Barbaree and husband Louie of Fortson, GA, son Kenneth Leroy Thomas of Freeport, FL, sister, Dolores Jenkins of Columbus, GA; four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, and host of loving extended family members.
