Ella Sue Cook Connally

Ella Sue Cox Cook Connally, 85, of Phenix City, AL died at Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, GA on Friday, April 30, 2021 after a short illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM (EST) on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Troy Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM till 3:00 PM (EST) prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cook was born December 30, 1935 in Montgomery, AL daughter of the late Charles Hamilton Cox and Eunice Bertha Mills Davis Cox. She was a homemaker and an active member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God. Her ministry at Evangel Temple included the Ladies Fellowship, Care Ministry and the Shut in Ministry. Mrs. Cook was well known for her Peanut Brittle and Peanut Butter Easter Eggs. She used the proceeds from the sale of these to support her ministry passion, Missions. She has left us a genuine legacy of faith to follow. We will miss her deeply, however her influence will continue to impact our family, those who knew her and the missions she supported so faithfully.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Edward Earl Cook, Sr. and Ronald Eugene Connally; two brothers, R. J. Davis and Charles Hamilton Cox; one sister, Annie “Ann” Marie Cooper.
Survivors include her four children, Roger Daniel “Danny” Cook (Margaret), Lafayette, LA, Tina Marie Cook Rogers (Buddy), Valdosta, GA, Edward “Ed” Earl Cook, Jr. (Gypsy), Salem, AL and Jeffrey “Jeff” Wayne Cook (Daphne), Daphne, AL; step-children, Jon Connally (Karen), Columbus, GA, Tim Connally (Kristi), Concord, NC and Karen Connally Wilkins (Phillip), Wadley, AL; sister, Ernestine Leif (Jim), Waco, NE; two sisters-in-law, Betty Mae Henderson, Smiths Station, AL and Clara Charlene Ellis, Columbus, GA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and close friends.
