Emily Evelyn Rash Dean

Emily Evelyn Rash Dean, 89, of Birmingham, AL and formally of Phenix City, AL passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Fair Haven Nursing Home in Birmingham, AL. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm EDT Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Pastor Dewayne Dean officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the funeral home. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Dean was born September 12, 1925 in Geneva County, AL to James Ervin Rash and Pokie Elafare Watson Rash. She served as a bookkeeper and was a loving, wife, mother, and grandmother who was deeply devoted to her family. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William C. Dean and several sisters and brothers. She is survived by two daughters, Janice Dean Shows and husband Gentry of Birmingham, AL and Donna Dean Couch and husband Ken of Boerne, TX (11) Grandchildren, Brian Shows, Kendall Shows, Brent Shows, Misty Shows, Clint Walker, Karen Walker, Emilee Keith, John Keith, Terra Leatherland, Annabel Couch, and Harrison Couch; (7) great grandchildren, Grant and Olivia Shows, Avery, Claire, and Evie Shows, and Jaxon and Colby Keith, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many loving friends.
