Emma Elizabeth Boyd

Emma Elizabeth Boyd, 97, of Columbus, GA, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016, at Midtown Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm EST, on Monday, May 9, 2016, at Edgewood Church of Christ, with Minister Roger Johnson and Minister Steve Barnes(Stafford Road Church of Christ) officiating with Louis Francis as song leader. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery and the family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 pm EST at Vance Memorial Chapel.

Emma was born in Pike County on October 1, 1918, the daughter of the late Jim and Clara Davis. She was self-employed as a seamstress all of her working life. Her love for sewing carried over into teaching many others this skill. She always kept a beautiful yard and would have a dog as a companion. Emma lived in Miami FL for many years and was devoted to the Lord. She was a member of Edgewood Church of Christ and enjoyed singing.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Joe Boyd and several siblings.

She is survived by her sister, Libby Russell and many nephews, nieces and other extended family members.
