Wendy Harmon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on February 1, 2024, at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.
She was born on February 16, 1963, in Ft. Bragg, NC. Wendy was a homemaker by profession, but touched the lives of everyone around her with her love and kindness. Wendy led a life dedicated to her family and the joy of creating a warm and loving home for them. Her passion for gardening brought life to their surroundings and added a touch of beauty to every corner of their lives.
The services honoring Wendy's remarkable life will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home - Columbus located at 4048 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907. The visitation is scheduled for Monday February 5, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday February 6, 2024, starting at 2:00 PM, with graveside service immediately following at Parkhill Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Harmon, Camden Harmon, Hunter Harmon, Kallon Harmon, Samuel Harmon and Don Keefer.
Wendy was preceded in death by her beloved "G-Daddy," William Leonard Sewell and sister, Karen Stewart.
Wendy leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, John Harmon Jr., who stood steadfastly by her side, weathering life's storms. Together they built a foundation of unwavering love and support that will forever remain in our hearts. She also leaves behind her sons Joe Harmon and his wife Rebecca of Ellerslie, GA; Adam Harmon and his wife Heather of Cataula, GA; and grandchildren Kallon, Hunter, Caitlyn, Camden, Caleb, Brianne, and Samuel – each one carrying a piece of Wendy's spirit and love for life; parents John Jake Keefer of Drums. PA and Barbara Sewell Keefer of Columbus, GA, brothers, Don Keefer and his wife LeeAnn of Wilkes Barre, PA and John Keefer of Columbus, GA.
During her time on earth, Wendy touched the lives of countless friends and neighbors who remember her warmth and generosity. Her absence will be deeply felt by all those fortunate enough to have known her. In this time of mourning, let us celebrate Wendy's life and the joy she brought to everyone around her. As we gather to bid farewell to a remarkable woman, let us remember Wendy for the love she gave unconditionally and the impact she made within her family and community. Her legacy will continue to inspire us as we navigate through life's challenges with grace, just as she did.
