Etta Jenkins

Etta Land Jenkins, 84, of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Rob Goodman officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Jenkins was born in Fortson, GA on August 1, 1933, daughter of the late Ralph Clayton Land and Mildred Shipp Land.  She retired from SunTrust Bank after many years of service.  Mrs. Jenkins was a long-time member of Summerville Baptist Church, where she was a member of the senior adult choir and AZO.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister Kathryn Ganus and a brother, Sydney Land.

Mrs. Jenkins is survived by a sister Nancy Moore and husband Daniel of Fortson, GA; two brothers, John W. Land and wife Beatrice and Marion Land, both of Fortson, GA; two special nieces, Kathy Ganus Pirtle and husband Michael of Montgomery, AL and Gayle Ganus Floyd and husband Rusty of Phenix City, AL; numerous other nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to two beloved caregivers, Janice Haynes and Georgia Bigelow.
