Evelyn “Jean” Kirtley, 86, of Waverly Hall, GA passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Columbus Hospice House.
A funeral will be held 11am Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus. Rev. Paul Williams and Pastor Lewis Brown will officiate. Burial will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery at 1:30. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 7 at the funeral home.
Jean was born in Glen Dean Kentucky on April 10, 1932 to the late Wilbur Thomas Williams Sr. and Lena Clark Williams. She was an avid bowler and was part of the SHAPE traveling bowling team when living in Belgium. She loved crafting, hummingbirds and flowers especially roses. In the last several years she traveled and camped whenever she could. She was also a member of Waverly Hall Baptist Church. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by sister, Mary Louise Diehl and brother, William Thomas Williams, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Loren Kirtley; daughters, Barbara Jean Myers of Columbus and Becky Hesson(Howard) of Waverly Hall; sons, Jesse Irvin Stilwell, Jr.(Olivia) of Waverly Hall and Ryan Scott Kirtley of Lawton, OK; sister, Reba Ann Smith of Bowling Green, KY; brother Paul Edward Williams(Pat) of Hardinsburg, KY; grandchildren, Jennifer Abraham(Tommy), Tina McEwen(Jeff), Mary Jean Marroquin(Juan), Brandon McDaniel(Paul), Josh Stilwell, Chris McDaniel(Little Bit), and Chris Hesson and Tiffany Eger; 15 great-grands and 11 great-great-grands; several extended family members and a great number of dear friends.
