Evelyn Woodall Posey, 96, of Salem, AL died peacefully while at Arabella Nursing Home in Phenix City, AL on Saturday, August 05, 2023.
Funeral Services will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home at 11:00 AM (EST) on Saturday, August 12, 2023 and Visitation will be preceding the funeral at 10:00 AM with Pastor Tommie Hart officiating.
Mrs. Posey was born March 7, 1927 in Phenix City, AL daughter of the late Charlie Woodall and Sadie Kennedy Woodall. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. “Granny” enjoyed cooking for her family and was a devoted homemaker. Before her husband passed away, she loved to go fishing and camping and was always by his side and spending time with their grandchildren, Haley and Ryan.
Mrs. Posey was preceded in death by her husband of 38 plus years, Haywood Leroy Posey, Sr. and her son, Haywood Leroy Posey, Jr. She was the only girl among 13 brothers.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Haley Posey Carpenter and Ryan Lee Posey, (Jennifer); five great-grandchildren, Trent, Parker, and Libby-Kate Posey, Camden “Cam” James Carpenter, Charleigh Renee Carpenter.
