Evola "Cookie" Louise Higginbotham

Evola Louise “Cookie” Hawkins Higginbotham, 69, of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday June 2, 2018 at her home.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm EST (12:00 noon CST) on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Kennedy Cemetery in Arley, AL with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating.

Mrs. Higginbotham was born January 25, 1949 in Stockton, CA, daughter of the late Samuel Hawkins and Louise Hawkins Hobbie.  She worked as a spinner and a weaver at Swift Mills for many years.  Mrs. Higginbotham was Pentecostal by faith and she enjoyed fishing, gardening, flowers, the outdoors and animals.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Wesley Higginbotham.

She is survived by a son, Matt Ducker and Karen of Phenix City, AL; two step-sons, Joel and Kevin Higginbotham; two grandchildren, Dustin and Caleigh Ducker; a host of other loving family members, friends and her dog Butch.
