Fannie Hall James, 80, of Salem, AL died at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL on her birthday, Monday, January 16, 2023.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Monday, January 23, 2023 in Lakeview Memory Gardens according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Mike Turner officiating.
Mrs. James was born January 16, 1943 in Phenix City, AL daughter of the late Julian Hunter Williford and Mildred Catherine Carden Williford. She had retired from the City of Opelika, AL after 16 years. Mrs. James loved time spent with family, and meeting friends in town for lunch and shopping. She was an avid gardener having a “green thumb” to grow a wide variety of flowers. Other past times include watching old movies and working crossword puzzles. A void has been left in our daily routine, but not in our hearts as she will always be remembered.
Mrs. James was preceded in death by her parents Julian and Mildred Williford; husbands Euel Powell, Jr. and Tommy James; two brothers, Jimmy and James Williford.
Survivors include her two children, daughter, Tracy Graham (Darrel) and son, David Linthicum (Marlene); one special grandson, James Graham (Whitney); sister-in-law, Mary Williford and two special friends, Nadine and Laverne; several other family members and friends.
