Fay Whisenhunt

Fay Dinampo Whisenhunt, 70, of Phenix City, AL, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am EST, on Monday, July 10, 2017, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at Vance Memorial Chapel Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 pm EST, with a rosary beginning at 4:30 pm.

Mrs. Whisenhunt was born on March 20, 1947 in Cebu City, Philippines, daughter of the late Bonifacio Dinampo and Maria Alcontin Dinampo.  She was a long time member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where she served in the Women’s Auxillary.  Mrs. Whisenhunt was also a volunteer at St. Patrick Catholic School and a member of the Cooper Creek Tennis Club.

Other than her parents she is preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by her loving husband Robert Eagon Whisenhunt of Phenix City, AL; two daughters, Marie Gill and husband John of Phenix City, AL and Alicia Strickland and husband James Earl of Destin, FL; one son, Robert Sterling Whisenhunt and wife Colleen of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Jacob and John Robert Gill, Sterling and Easton Strickland and Rebecca and Sarah Whisenhunt; many other extended family and friends.
