Ferrell C. Peed, 88, of Salem, AL passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Jack Hughston Hospital in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EST Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Bud Passmore officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm EST at Vance Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Peed was born April 15, 1927 in Butler, GA to the late Frank and Eunice Foy Peed. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War and later retired from the City of Columbus. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and loved both gospel and country music. He was an accomplished musician, playing the harmonica and guitar and enjoyed years of playing and singing with many friends. He served as softball coach for two of his daughters and always enjoyed his time at the ballfield. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy “Dot” Peed; children, Debbie(Baron) Clark of Kingston, GA, Pam(Mark) Sweat of Valley, AL, Pat(Dave) Olsen) of Sierra Vista, AZ and Randy Peed of Columbus, GA; (8) grandchildren, (11) great grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Paw Paw” and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
