Ferril Homer Jones

Ferril Homer Jones, 84, of Columbus, GA passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital.  A graveside service will be held at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Columbus, GA on Friday, April 15, 2016 beginning at 2:00 P.M. EST with Pastor Jimbo Albrecht, Reverend Howard White and Reverend Lynn Meadows-White officiating.  The family will receive friends at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. EST.  

Ferril was born August 22, 1931 in Frazier, KY to the late Anthony Jones and Alice Neely Jones.  He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He was a Veteran who proudly served in the United States Army, retiring as an E7.  He served in the Korean War, Lebanon Police Action and was awarded a Bronze Star with Valor.  He was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge #144 in Midland, GA, The Shriner’s, and 9th Field Artillery.

Other than his parents, Ferril is predeceased by first wife, Maude Jones, 2nd wife, Martha Armour of 20 years and several siblings.

Survivors include five daughters:  Jane Armour of Columbus, GA, Linda Honaker (Carl) of Kennesaw, GA, Sheryl Lee of Columbus, GA, Becky McCullough of Birmingham, AL and Julie Colon of Columbus, GA; one sister, Wilma, eight grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  He also had a special pet, Bobby.
