Fletcher Eugene “Pitts” Ogletree, Sr., 81, of Phenix City, AL passed away at his residence Saturday, December 12, 2020.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Michael Greer officiating. Due to safety concerns related to Covid 19, a private interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens.
Mr. Ogletree was born October 3, 1939 in Crawford, AL son of the late George Dennis “Jack” Ogletree and Mary Margarete Boswell Ogletree. He was the owner/operator of G & P Radiator and Auto service for 30 years. Mr. Ogletree was an active member of Word of Faith Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Phenix City Bass Club where he enjoyed participating in tournaments. Aside from fishing, he enjoyed collecting antiques. Mr. Ogletree was not only a good mechanic and fisherman, he was also a skilled wood worker. His talents, skills and wisdom will always be valued and remembered by his family.
Mr. Ogletree was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Ogletree.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Bobbie Ann Gordon Ogletree, Phenix City, AL; two sons, Fletcher Eugene Ogletree, Jr. and Rusty Ogletree (Kara) all of Phenix City, AL; three sisters, Vera Adams, Hatchechubbee, AL, Barbara Jean Melton (Huff), of Phenix City, AL and Mary Greer (Harold) of Phenix City, AL; two grandchildren, Amanda Kempisty (Tony) and Russ Ogletree (Taylor); great-grandchildren, Nathan, Logan and Colton; numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
