Florence "Ophelia" Parrish

Florence “Ophelia” Cochran Parrish, 94, of Phenix City, AL passed away early Thursday morning, December 20, 2018 in the comfort of her home while surrounded by her loving family.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held 11:00 am EST on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Pastor Phillip Camp and Pastor Tony Floyd officiating.  A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 am EST, one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Parrish was born December 1, 1924 in Bartow, FL and was the daughter of Charlie “Swink” Cochran and Bessie Elizabeth Newman Cochran.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister who loved and cherished her family. She faithfully served her Lord throughout her life, her love was working with the children, and the youth where her unique and creative talents were well known.  For many years, her poster/displays encouraged others to support the mission’s work of Annie Armstrong, and Lottie Moon.   She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Phenix City.  Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Cochran, and Louise Thomas, three brothers, Swink Cochran, Jr., Robert Cochran, and Charles Cochran, and one granddaughter, Danielle Wade.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 72 years, Daniel Mason “Buddy” Parrish, three children, Danny Parrish and wife Tammy, Donna Harden and husband Bill, and Dianna Byrd and husband Jerry; two sisters, Laverne Ingram, and Ravenell Caraway and husband L. C.; (6) grandchildren, several great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and many caring friends.

Mrs. Parrish had a sincere love and appreciation for the Bobbie Lloyd family and the Parrish family would to say thank you for providing the special music for her service.  Nothing was more pleasing than seeing her smile as she witnessed the Lloyd family singing praises of worship to our Lord and Savior.
