Floyd J. Williams, 85, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Gentiva Hospice in Columbus, GA.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00 am EDT at Mount Zion Cemetery in Smiths Station, AL. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City.
Mr. Williams was born April 28, 1932 in Josie, AL to the late Aron Williams and Dovie Crawford Williams. He was retired from West Point Pepperell and served our country as a Veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. He loved talking on his C B radio and was known as “Catfish”, he enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, and walking. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Davis Williams, and seven siblings, Jim Williams, J B Williams, Mable Napier, Margaret Lee, Ann Coxwell, Jerry Williams, and Louie Williams.
He is survived by one sister, Susie Peacock of Opelika, AL, two very special nephews, Derrick Lee and Roger M. Redden, and a host of nieces and nephews, extended family, and many caring friends. Online condolences may be shared at www.vancememorialchapel.net
