Mrs. Frances “Sherree” Skipper Dean, 75, of Phenix City, Alabama, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 20, 2024, while at Brookside Glen Assisted Living Facility in Columbus, Georgia, with her family by her side.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Dean will be held at 11:00 AM EST on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, with Rev. Clay Duck officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Dean was born in Phenix City, Alabama, the daughter of Leo Skipper and Earline Steverson Morris. After high school she married the love of her life Furman “Bobby” Dean, Sr. and they began a journey together which lasted for over fifty-six years. Sherree was retired as a Rural Mail Carrier, a career that she very much enjoyed. During her retirement years she enjoyed knitting and reading. One of her favorite hobbies was traveling with her husband Bobby to his homeplace in North Carolina or to visit with her daughter in Ohio. Sherree was a life-long member of Philadelphia Baptist Church where she served in several different capacities to include Church Secretary and Sunday School Teacher. Above all, she loved being a wife, mother and grandmother to her family.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Dean is preceded in death by her stepfather Vernon Morris.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband Furman “Bobby” Dean, Sr; mother Earline Steverson Morris; daughters Sandy Abbott and husband John of Smiths Station, AL and Cathy Sims and husband Matthew of Maumee, OH; son Robert Dean and wife Heather of St. Augustine, FL; six grandchildren Christian Abbott, Tommy Abbott and wife Blaine, Ansley Duke and husband Kevin, Bailey Dean, JoJo Abbott and Colby Dean and numerous other extended family members and friends.
The family would like to extend a “heart-felt” thank you to many caregivers and associates of Brookside Glen Assisted Living and Empyrean Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions be made in Mrs. Dean’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org
