Hubert Franklin “Frank” Helms, 73, of Phenix City, AL died at his residence on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 with his family by his side.
Graveside services with Fire Fighter Honors will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Thursday, November 12, 2020 in Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Jay Grantham officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from Noon till 1:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Helms was born August 12, 1947 in Coffee County, AL son of the late Joel David Helms and Trecie Stanaland Helms. He retired from the Columbus Fire Department Engine # 11 as a Hazmat Engineer/Driver. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking, was an avid Alabama fan and loved a good joke. He loved all kinds of music, especially from the 60’s and 70’s. We will remember his humor, love of family and commitment to serving others.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Allred Helms, Phenix City, AL; daughter, Christy DeLucca (Derek), Smiths Station, AL; four siblings, Linda Sparks, Jimmy Helms (Gloria), Don Helms (Tiny) and George Helms (Emily); three dearly loved grandchildren, Thayer, Nelson and Noah DeLucca; numerous nieces, nephews and close friends also survive.
