Columbus

Frank J. LaGrange, 61, of Columbus, Georgia, sadly passed away on September 4, 2024 at Piedmont Midtown, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and love that will forever resonate in the hearts of his family and friends. Born on January 2, 1963, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Frank emerged into a world that presented him with considerable challenges from the very start. Diagnosed with Addison's Disease, doctors once believed he might not survive beyond his childhood. Yet, with an indomitable spirit, he embraced life with strength and determination, transcending expectations and creating a vibrant, fulfilling existence.

Frank dedicated many years of his professional life as a clerk at Piggly Wiggly, where his intelligence and kind heart shone through in every interaction he had with customers and colleagues alike. His warm presence and unwavering work ethic made him a cherished member of the community. Throughout his life, Frank was steadfast and stubborn, qualities that not only defined his character but also served him well as he navigated the obstacles that life presented.

An avid sports enthusiast, Frank found joy and excitement in cheering for his favorite teams, particularly the Braves and the Green Bay Packers. His passion for baseball, football, and hockey became a cherished hobby, often sparking lively discussions and camaraderie among his friends and family.

Above all, Frank was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his loving partner and wife of 36 years, Deborah Longley LaGrange, of Columbus, Georgia, who stood by him through thick and thin. Frank's family also includes his stepson, Jason Niles, and his wife, Faith, of Savannah, Georgia, who he loved as his own. Frank's life was enriched by the love of his sisters, Shirley McKeel and her husband Jeffrey of Alexander City, Alabama, Regina Wright and her husband Robert of Columbus, Georgia, Maria Vargas of Sanford, Florida, and Kathy Senter and her husband Steven of Mims, Florida, and multiple nieces and nephews. They formed a tight-knit support network that celebrated both triumphs and tribulations, and their bonds were a testament to the love that Frank cultivated throughout his life. He was a proud grandfather to Haley, Logan, Ethan, Chloe, Raiden, and Megan, and the proud great-grandfather of five, with another little one on the way. His family grew in love and laughter, a true reflection of the life he had built against all odds.

Though he is survived by many, Frank is predeceased by his father, Harold LaGrange, mother, Rosemary LaGrange, and stepmother, Erika LaGrange, who undoubtedly held a special place in his life and shaped the man he became.

A visitation to honor Frank's remarkable life will take place on September 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus, Georgia.
