Fred Warren Spillers

Fred Warren Spillers, 69, of Columbus, GA passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at his residence.  A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA  on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 beginning at 2:00 PM EST with Pastor Lee Halverson officiating.  A private family interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday, July 18, 2016 at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST.  The Rosary will be held prior to the family visitation on Monday, beginning at 5:30 P.M.  

Mr. Spillers was born May 17, 1947 in Fort Wayne, IN to the parents of the late William E. Skinner and Nancy Lois Clark Skinner.  He was a member of Holy Family Church in Columbus.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He retired after 8 years as a maintenance supervisor for Motel 6.

Other than his parents, Mr. Spillers is predeceased by a son, Fred Warren Spillers II, and a brother, Thomas John Spillers.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Deborah Louise Lyons Spillers; his mother, Regina Skinner of Covington, LA; four sons:  Christopher Warren Spillers (Karen) of Fort Wayne, IN, Patrick J. Spillers (Tammy Ann) of Fort Wayne, IN, Jeffery Scott Spillers of Fort Wayne, IN, and Brett E. Spillers (Teresa) of Columbus, GA; one sister, Diana Spillers of Fort Wayne, IN; one brother, Russell Skinner of Columbus, GA; 21 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and a fur baby, Chico.
