Msg (Retired) Lowell Leonard Ketchum

MSG (Retired) Lowell Leonard Ketchum, 85, of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday morning, July 10, 2023, in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Ketchum was born February 10, 1938, in Blackwell, MO, son of the late Lowell Thurman Ketchum and Florence Margaret Mesey Ketchum. He served our country honorably during the Vietnam War and was retired from the United States Army. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart along with numerous other awards, medals, and accommodations for his bravery and service. He enjoyed watching sports, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and listening to music, but his greatest joy was spending time with all his family. He was a Christian and a supported the City Gate Church in Phenix City.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: an infant brother, Robert Ketchum and John Ketchum.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Glenda Jeanette Jackson Ketchum of Phenix City, AL; three children, Edie Cerutti and husband Maj. (Retired) Chaplain David Cerutti of Killeen, TX, Theresa Cerutti of Phenix City, AL, and Sam Ketchum of Phenix City, AL; four sisters, Carol Thompson of Cordell, OK, Janet Revelle of Bonne Terre, MO, Doris Degonia of Farmington, MO, and Joyce Blackwell of Potosi, MO; two brothers, Richard Ketchum and wife Grace of Bonne Terre, MO, and Chris Ketchum of Blackwell, MO; five grandchildren, Stephanie Cerutti, David Cerutti and wife Sara, Angela Cerutti, Mackenzie Cerutti, and Jonathan Cerutti; and three precious great-grandchildren, Jacob, Adalyn, and Emersyn; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family whom he loved dearly, along with his church family, and many caring friends.
A private celebration of life memorial service will be held later by his loving family. MSG (Retired) Lowell Leonard Ketchum will be laid to rest in private with Military Honors at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.
