Gary Thomas Lamay, 78, of Smiths Station, AL died at his home on Monday, August 05, 2024.

Mr. Lamay was born July 13, 1946, in Malone, NY son of the late Gladys Lamay Beaudin. He was a proud U. S. Marine Corps Vietnam veteran. During the war he operated heavy equipment in support of the other Marines. After the war he put his skills as a heavy machine operator to use and joined Palm Beach County, FL as an operator for several years. In his leisure time he loved to play golf with his buddies. It was always a competition between them, but also a relaxing and fun outing. Mr. Lamay was an avid hunter and looked forward to the fall hunting season each year. He was also an avid sports fan, making sure to attend as many of his granddaughters’ games as possible. As a sports fan, Mr. Lamay had two professional teams he followed closely, the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons.
Papa as he was known to family and friends had good genes. He never looked his age, however the most important things we will remember about him are his patriotism and love of family.
Mr. Lamay was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Beaudin and her husband, Napolean Beaudin.
Survivors include his son, Jeff Lamay (Julie), Deland, FL; two siblings, Karen Beaudin and Kevin Beaudin (Barb); two granddaughters who were his world, Emily and Sarah Lamay; his ex-wife, Phyllis Lamay; two nephews Kevin and Keith Beaudin; several other family members and friends.
