Gary S. Clegg

Gary S. Clegg, 79, of Phenix City, AL, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. est Monday, January 25, 201 at Vance Memorial Chapel with Rev. Danny Ryals officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. est at the funeral home.

Mr. Clegg was born March 20, 1936 in Phenix City, AL, son of the late Leroy Clegg and Elizabeth Green Clegg.  He retired after 24 years of service in the United States Air Force.  Later, Mr. Clegg also retired from the Civil Service, where he worked at Ft. Benning.  Additionally, he was a member of St. Mark Freewill Baptist Church.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Barbara Clegg of Phenix City, AL; one daughter, Christina Wood and husband Jimmy of Phenix City, AL; one grandchild, Madison Wood of Phenix City, AL, many other caring friends.
