Gary Wayne Brown

Gary Wayne Brown, 61, of Phenix City, AL, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EST, on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Vance Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Allen Griffith officiating. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens and the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Mr. Brown was born on October 9, 1954, in Phenix City, AL, the son of Grady Brown and Geraldine Strickland Brown. He worked as an Engineer for Northfolk Southern Railroad and retired after more than 40 years, and served as the Secretary and Treasurer for BLE # 409. Mr. Brown was a loving family man who enjoyed his grandchildren and sports, especially softball.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Oma Strickland and Grady and Willie Elizabeth Brown, brother, Eric Brown, and sister in-law, Anita Brown.

Other than his parents he is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Diana Brown; daughter, Lindsay Smith, husband Chad of Phenix City, AL; 2 sons, Brandon Brown of Columbus, GA, and Dustin Brown, wife Kristie of Houston, TX; sister, Darlene White, husband Allen of Smiths Station, AL; 2 brothers, Timothy Brown, wife Denise of Smiths Station, AL and Keith Brown of Phenix City, AL; 4 grandchildren, Casen Smith, Braxden Brown, Brandon Brown, Jr., and Brooklyn Parrish; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and many caring friends.
