Gary William Baker

Gary William Baker, 62, of Box Springs, GA passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

A graveside service is scheduled for 10:30am Friday, July 29, 2016 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Lyn McMannus officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 at Vance Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Baker was born January 2, 1954 in Buffalo, NY to Betty Kramer Baker and the late William Baker.  He proudly served in the US Marine Corp. and also in the Army National Guard. Mr. Baker was a member of the American Legion, a Master Electrician and a master of loving and caring for his mother. 

He is survived by his loving companion, Catherine Casteel; mother Betty Baker; Aunt and uncle Shirley and Chet Gruden of Gowanda, NY; children, Melissa Lounsbury and husband Gary and Jason Baker; grandchildren, Kyle Dowdall, Nicholas Baker and Wyatt Baker; several extended family members and many caring friends.
