Gaynell Cottingham Graham, 83, of Smiths Station, AL died at Bethany House Hospice in Auburn, AL Wednesday, October 23, 2019.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Friday, October 25, 2019 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Brother Jimmy Boone and Mr. Tommy Henderson officiating. A committal service will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Graham was born August 21, 1936 in Hogansville, GA the daughter of the late Lewis Cottingham and Ida Bridges Cottingham. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church for many years. Mrs. Graham enjoyed yard sales, racing (almost anything with a motor), Dominoes and puzzles. We will miss her in our daily routine; however, her wisdom, ways and memories will always be with us.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Don Graham, Sr.; three brothers, Ralph, Bud and Leroy Cottingham; and two sisters, Ruby Abernathy and Martha Coleman.
Survivors include her son, Eddie Don (Patti) Graham, Jr., Opelika, AL; two sisters, Joyce DeBlanche, Prattville, AL, and Connie VanHoosen, Nebraska; two granddaughters, Danielle (Michael) Parker, Auburn, AL and Ashley (Brandon) Gatlin, Smiths Station, AL; three great grandchildren, Beau Bailey, Brayden Gatlin and Waylon Parker; special niece, Joyce Spurlin; special nephew, Beau Abernathy; numerous other nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her memory to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 205, Smiths Station, AL 36877 in her memory.
