Gene Melvin

Gene Melvin, 76, of Phenix City, AL, entered his heavenly home on December 13, 2024. Visitation will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, Al, on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 1:00 pm EST, followed by a Funeral Service by Rev. Donald Seabrook officiating at 2:00 pm EST. Services will conclude with a committal service at Lakeview Memory Gardens. 

Gene Melvin was born in Panama City, FL to the late Ernest and Agnes Melvin on January 25, 1948. He was a Regional Director for Global Health and Safety until retirement. Gene married Daune Melvin and remained her faithful and loving husband for 43 years until her passing in 2010. He married again in 2018 to Donna Melvin whom he loved dearly until his passing. Gene spent most of his time working but liked to socialize and loved good conversation. He also looked forward to being with his longtime friends at their yearly Beach Bum Reunion in Panama City Beach, Florida. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Gene Melvin is preceded in death by his first wife, Daune Melvin; parents, Ernest and Agnes Melvin; and brothers, Dudley Melvin and Ernest Ned Melvin. Gene is survived by his wife, Donna Melvin; son, Ian Melvin (Sabrina); bonus children, Candi Willis (Mike), Joni Johnson (Randy), and Tyler Bishop (Christina); grandchildren, Trip Dunton, Logan Willis, Reese Johnson, Zoey Bishop, Lyla Johnson, Brittney Hall (Jordan), Natalie Wade, and Joseph Wade (Abrielle); and great-grandchild, Linley Wade.
