Mr. George C. “Jack” Gullatte

Mr. George C. “Jack” Gullatte of Salem, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his residence on January 14, 2022, while surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon EST (11:00 CST), on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church located at 4827 Lee Road 401 Salem, AL 36874, with Rev. Jordan Hoge officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Gullatte was born in Salem, AL the son of James Chilton Gullatte and Georgia Irene Capps Gullatte. He was a life-long faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Gullatte also served his country in the United States Army. He was a life insurance salesman for his entire career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He loved gardening, golf and traveling with his family. Jack never met a stranger. He treasured the times spent with his family.

In addition to his first wife Mary Garrett Gullatte, Jack Gullatte was preceded in death by brothers Bob Ed Gullatte and David Gullatte; sisters Carolyn Jarrett, Mary Jewell Snellings and Eloise Gullatte.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Ruth Dudley Gullatte; daughters Jackie Swann (Ron) of Norcross, GA and Beth Grimsley (Ellis) of Clarkesville, GA; son Gary Gullatte (Donna) of Salem, AL; grandchildren Mark Gullatte (Peyton), Chase Gullatte (Ashley Kendrick), Aaron Swann (fiance’ Christine Everett), Zac Swann (Mariel), Shawna Swann, Will Grimsley, Benjamin Grimsley (Hadley) and Olivia Grimsley; great grandchildren BB Gullatte and Camille Gullatte; step son Mike Miles (Jan); step daughter Robin Ingram (Bobby); step grandchildren Garrett Miles, Taylor Ogletree (Russ), Miles Ingram (Katie), Robb Ingram and Hannah Sumpter (JT) and step great grandchildren Logan Ogletree, Colton Ogletree and Ella Ingram.
