George M. Davis, Sr.

George Davis Sr, age 82, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at St Francis Hospital, Columbus, GA.

Graveside services are scheduled at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City on Saturday, April 15, 2023, 10 a.m. (EST) with Reverend Robb Goodman officiating, according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N/280W, Phenix City, Alabama.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 5-7 p.m.

Mr. Davis, son of the late Levy Davis and Nancy Farris Davis, was born February 3, 1941 in Apalachicola, FL.  He worked many years at the Exide GNB plant in Columbus, Ga. He retired from the environmental services department of St Frances Hospital in 2002. Mr. Davis was Baptist by faith. He enjoyed working on and talking about anything with a motor. He also enjoyed watching westerns and the Weather Channel. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Carol Davis, six siblings, Nathan Davis, Macon Davis, Charles Davis, Laura Davis Ennis, James C Davis, Nancy Davis Stafford, and grandson Michael Davis.

Mr. Davis is survived by his three sons, George Davis, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Columbus, Georgia, CMSgt (USAF Ret) Johnny Davis and his wife Angela of Prattville, Alabama, and Chris Davis and his wife Shaunna of Phenix City; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Davis, Jonathan Davis and his wife Lindsey, Joshua Davis, Shelby Davis, and Mahalie Davis; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Davis, Emery Davis, and Cameron Davis; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
