Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Jones

Gerald Wayne “Jerry” Jones, 72, of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Gentiva Hospice House in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 10, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City.  Interment with Military Honors will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the funeral home.

Jerry was born July 25, 1943 in Paris, KY to the late Eddis Jones and Sudie Williams Jones Bono.  He was retired as owner/operator of G & P Body Works and served our country as a Veteran of the United States Army.  Jerry was a Christian by faith.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge and enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting, singing, gardening, and spending time with family.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, William Jones, J C Jones, Earl Jones, and John Paul Jones, Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Frances Marie Guthrie Jones, sons, Ronnie Ward and wife Crystal, Terry Ward, Jerry Jones and wife Jennifer all of Phenix City, AL, and Timmy Jones and wife Jennifer of Columbus, GA, one sister, Mary Frances Hunt and husband Jack of Nicholas County, KY, and one brother, James W. Jones of Fayetteville, NC; (10) grandchildren, Chance Ward, Brandon Ward, Colby Jones, Dalton Ward, Allison Jones, Jesse Ward, Jake Ward, Garrett Jones, Haley Jones, and Wyatt Ward; numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and many friends.
