Mr. Gerald H. Parker

Gerald Hubit Parker, 72, of Smiths Station, AL, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, June 4, 2023 while at DCH Tuscaloosa, AL with his family by his side.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 12:00 PM (EST) on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Reverend Stephen Stroud officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM (EST) until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

Mr. Parker was born August 26, 1950 in Columbus, GA son of the late Tommie Parker and Edna McArdle Parker. He was a 1969 graduate of Smiths Station High School and worked in the paint business for 30 years. Gerald was a member of the Wilson Williams Masonic Lodge # 351.  Mr. Parker’s family will remember him as being a loving, strong, hardworking man who provided well for his family. Gerald enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, watching Alabama Football, NASCAR, being outdoors, fishing and traveling. His favorite travel destination was Port St. Joe, FL, where he loved to spend time and make great memories. Rest in peace, Gerald. You were one of a kind and you will be dearly missed by all who knew you.

Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Edna Parker and a brother, David Parker.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Susan M. Parker; two daughters, Shea Stroud (Stephen) and Brooke Parker; three brothers, Wayne Parker, Clay Parker (Debbie), and Tommie Parker (Janie); two sisters, Pixie Romine and Teena Zebreski; four grandchildren, Parker Stroud, Peyton Stroud, Paige Stroud and Brock Chandler; several nieces, nephews and friends.
