Geraldine Bigbie

Geraldine Bessant Bigbie, 82, of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020 in the comfort of her daughter’s home in Crawford, AL while surrounded by her loving family.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 11:00 am EST at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Mark Hudson and Chaplain Daniel Mitchell officiating.  A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 am EST prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bigbie was born July 19, 1937 in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late Lucious Harp Bessant and Lula Mae Goodson Bessant.  She was retired from Aflac with many years of loyal service.  She was a member of the Phenix City Moose Lodge.  She enjoyed gardening, planting, and yardwork, and she loved fishing.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Edmund “Buck” Bigbie, three sisters and one brother.

She is survived by one son, Tim Bigbie of Seale, AL  and three daughters, Terry Simmons and husband Bobby of Phenix City, AL, Pixie Elia and husband Shaun of Savannah, GA, and Dixie Silva and husband Eddie of Smiths Station, AL, five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
