Geraldine “Geri” Ethridge McGreggor, 89, was born in Columbus, GA on December 9, 1927 and passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Phenix City Health Care. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ammie Gillam and Myrtice Sands Ethridge, husband Arthur L. McGreggor, Jr., triplet sisters Ernestine Ethridge and Christine Ethridge Wright and brother Royce Gillam Ethridge.

She is survived by a sister, Hazel Ethridge Willis of Phenix City, AL; 2 sons, Michael E. McGreggor (Senoia) of Clopton, AL and Kenneth G. McGreggor (Debbie) of Salem, AL; 7 grandchildren, Kimberly James of Crawford, AL, Angie Hill (David) of West Palm Beach, FL, Krista Downing (Chris) of Smith Station, AL, Keri Harrelson (Zack) of Salem, AL, Tammy Wheeler (Tim) of Sharpsburg, GA, Sharry Tucker (Brandt) of Auburn, AL, and Paul Williamson (Zena) of Bessemer, AL; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her career started as a bookkeeper for the Bibb Mills. She left the Bibb Mills to work for a very small insurance company now known as Aflac. She went on to work for Ernest and Ernest accounting and retired from Fountain Arrington.

During her career she was involved in PSI (Professional Secretaries International now known as the International Association of Administrative Professionals). She served as President of the local Port City Chapter and was named Secretary of the Year in 1974.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 4-6 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 2 pm at Vance Brooks Funeral Home with burial to follow at ParkHill Cemetery. Dr. David Kees will officiate.
