Gina Marie Childers

Gina Marie Childers, 55, of Cataula, GA passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at the Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Thursday, May 25, 2023 beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jonathan Merritt officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Gina was born on August 19, 1967 in Columbus, GA to William and Rita Taylor. She was employed at the Texas State Prison as a correction officer. Gina was an exceptional woman who loved life, God, and her family. She enjoyed attending Edgewood Baptist Church with her mother and was always inspired by the words of their pastor. Oftentimes, Gina could be found reading a book, creating beautiful crafts, and cross stitching. She was a huge dog lover, always smiling at the joy they brought to her heart. Gina will be greatly missed by family and friends, but, after completing her mission on this earth, has finally made it home to her Heavenly Father. She has poured into the lives of many and will always be remembered with the best of memories that will forever live in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.

Gina is preceded in death by her father William C. Taylor and son John Logan Childers. Survivors include her mother Rita Taylor of Cataula, GA; daughter Hailey Marie Childers of Bryan, TX; sisters Amy Taylor McGuire (Edwin, “JR”) of Smiths Stations, AL, Jill Taylor Hagan and Julie Taylor, both of Cataula, GA; brother William Andrew Taylor of Lanett, AL; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
