Gladys G. Sentell

Gladys Gore Sentell, 84, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Phenix City Health Care in Phenix City, AL.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EST Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Pastor Richie Ashburn officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sentell was born May 1, 1932 in Cartersville, GA to the late Charlie Gore and Ora Fowler Gore.  She was retired from Opelika Manufacturing and had been working as a seamstress in her field for over 28 years.  She enjoyed crafting, flower gardening, the outdoors, cooking, and sharing quality time with family and especially her grandchildren.  Mrs. Sentell was a charter member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church in Phenix City.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Franklin Sentell, four sisters, Geneva Nation, Frances Ward, Mary Roberts, and Ruth Satterfield, and two brothers, Charles Gore, Jr., and Eugene Gore.

She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Sue Sentell Stamey and husband Ronnie, one son, Richard Neil Sentell and wife Debbie, all of Phenix City, AL; sister, Juanita Clark of Cartersville, GA, (2) grandchildren, Ron Stamey (Angie), and Stacey Sartuche (Richard), (6) great grandchildren, Wayne Stamey (Hillary), Blake Sartuche, J P Stamey (Amber), Rachel Fussell (Trent), Cody Stamey, and Shelby Sartuche; one precious great great grandson, Will Stamey, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.  A special thank you to all the CNA’s and staff at Greenhouse #1 at Calvary and Phenix City Health Care for the love and care shown for Mrs. Sentell.
