Gladys Andrews Pitts, 99, of Phenix City, AL died Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at her home.
There will be no formal service due to the COVID 19 restrictions. However, the family has requested that friends and family take a moment of silence at 4:00 pm Saturday, July 11, 2020 in honor and remembrance of the life of Gladys Andrews Pitts.
Mrs. Pitts was born June 12, 1921 in Ozark, AL daughter of the late Harry Andrews and Corene Judah Andrews. She was a long time volunteer with the Phenix City, AL Chapter of the Red Cross. Mrs. Pitts enjoyed reading, spending time with her cats and was an avid Auburn Football fan. Her greatest love was being a mother and grandmother. Mrs. Pitts was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and a former member of Hatchechubbee United Methodist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Walker Pitts; a sister, Elizabeth Stephens and a brother, Dexter Andrews.
Mrs. Pitts is survived by her daughter, Jane Bayer and husband Gary of Phenix City, AL; two grandchildren, Scott Bayer and fiancé Caitlin Taylor of Richmond, VA and Carson Bayer and fiancé Nicholas Gillespie of Dothan, AL; several other extended family and friends.
