Glen Rudolph Cooper, age 85, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Columbus Hospice House. Graveside services are scheduled at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 US Hwy 280/431N, Phenix City, Alabama on Thursday, August 6, 2020, 2 p.m. with Reverend Barry Danner officiating, according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N, Phenix City, Alabama. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 from 5-7 p.m.
Mr. Cooper, son of the late Leroy James Cooper and Mary Jane Gilbert Cooper, was born November 30, 1934 in Columbus, Georgia. He was retired from Fieldcrest Mills where he faithfully worked for over 20 years. Mr. Cooper was a member of First Assembly of God Church, and was known by many as a man who could fix anything. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly farming and fishing. Mr. Cooper looked forward to watching baseball and old western movies. The family remembers him as a man who loved all of his family, but specifically his wife and grandchildren.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Cooper; two daughters, Ronda Bradley Worley and Mary Helen Cooper, and a son David Cooper; sisters, Lois Cammon, Sue Layfield and Bobbie Joann; a brother, Bart Cooper; and grandson, Zachary Belitz.
Mr. Cooper is survived by his daughters, Donna Bradley Parish and her husband Hanse of Phenix City and Wanda Weatherly and her husband Keith of Forsyth, Georgia; sons, Larry Wayne Bradley and his partner Kevin of Madison, Georgia and Chris Scott and his wife Lisa of Phenix City; numerous grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
