Gwendolyn Hortman King

Gwendolyn Hortman King, 80, formerly of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm EDT Friday, October 9, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel with Rev. Grant Parker officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Friday at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mrs. King was born May 26, 1935 in Florala, AL to the late Robert and Lucile Hortman. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church while living in Phenix City. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Truman King; siblings, Carlton Hortman, Walter Hortman, Jeanete Ricks, Albert Hortman and Phillip Hortman.

She is survived by two children, Debra and Paul Cutler of Villa Rica, GA and Malcolm L. King of Phenix City, AL; brother, Mack Hortman; grandchildren, Jared King, Shannon Arighi, Brian Cutler, Loren McIntire and Chelsea Kirkwood; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Gavin, Grayson and Nicholas; several nieces and nephews and numerous other loving family members and many friends.
